Since reading Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott I’ve reincarnated the idea that terrible first drafts of anything, are ok. When I was a little girl, I used to spend hours in solice, drawing and painting; without any agenda. The enjoyment I got out of just water and paint, was incredible. As an adult, the guilt of “I should be doing something worthwhile” takes over and I can’t rememeber the last time I sat to paint or draw without an agenda or feeling guilty.
I watched an incredible video with Aaron Draplin this morning. Aaron is one of the people I loved having on Happy Monday the most, I also saw a wonderful talk of his at Build Conference a few years ago. He’s a good guy. I digress; this video of Aaron reminds us all the importance of stepping away from the screens and picking up a pencil and notebook from time to time. Enjoy.
