Voted for by the public and then judged by a panel of industry experts, the .net awards have become a highlight in the geek calendar. I was thrilled to have just been nominated, then ecstatic to make the final 3 – to win, well – it means more to me than any of you could realise.
By nature I’m not a particularly confident person, always second guessing myself and reading too much into things. Having this little confidence booster on my desk will hopefully abolish some of my demons and help me to continue doing great work.
Thank you to everyone who voted and the judges who picked me – it really means a heck of a lot to me.

Congratulations Sarah!
Hello Sarah,
Last year HOW launched their first HOW Interactive Design Conference in San Francisco in November, we’re happy to report the the event sold out and received rave reviews from our audience.
We are currently collecting proposals for sessions and workshops at the HIDC 2012, and were wondering if you’d be interested in speaking.
We’re doing things a little differently this year: We plan to have a beginner’s track and an advanced track, and we’ll be putting on the event in both San Francisco (Oct. 29-31) and Washington DC (Sept. 27-29)! http://www.howinteractivedesign.com/push/save-the-date-howidc-in-sf-and-dc-this-fall
If you’d like to speak at our events, just fill out the attached proposal form and send it back to us by Feb. 6. You can also find this form and the FAQ about speaker proposals on our website at http://www.howinteractivedesign.com/call-for-speakers.
Feel free to send multiple ideas for topics within your area of expertise (especially if you have some ideas for beginners and others for more advanced designers. We can help you determine the most compelling angle based on the rest of the program. Topics based on books you’ve written are always welcome as well. We’ll be considering sessions at our planning meeting in mid-February, and we’ll get back in touch with you if we’re interested. Let us know if you have any questions, and we look forward to hearing from you!
Cheers,
Bridgid
