iPad Wireframe .EPS
3 Apr
To celebrate the launch of the iPad, and undoubtedly another fantastic platform to design for, I have designed an iPad Wireframe to help you with the design process for yourself and/or your clients. When I started doing iPhone UI, I created my own basic wireframe to help with the planning process for the apps I was working on, I found it better to show clients a stripped back version, no colours, no flourishes, just purely focusing on the UI of their app.
I knew I’d need the same for iPad, so I’m happy to share my iPad Wireframe with you too. It’s in one neat .eps file.

Happy iPad day!
Thanks for this Sarah. Hopefully I might get an iPad design project come in soon!
Wow! I just stumbled across this post, and I must say that is a slick wireframe. You’re a very talented designer, nice job!
Brilliant, Sarah! Thanks so much. I’m hoping I’ll get to try my hand at iPad / iPhone development soon enough, so this will come in very handy!
Congrats on releasing something for public use too, have you released much else that I haven’t noticed? Would love to see your iPhone wireframe (think I’ve heard of it, but not seen it anywhere, sorry if it’s about and I just missed it!)
Groovy, thanks for this
This is fantastic Sarah, thank you!!
I’ll be sure you make a “Thanks Sarah” note on my website when I finish my app.
Thx for sharing.
Currently I’m developing stencils and templates for Visio and Concept-Draw … but … Are you sure about the dimension of “Large App Icons”? Isn’t it 112x112px ?
Good Job … Keep it up!
Hi Holger,
Glad you are making good use of it!
I’m 100% certain it’s 512 x 512px, it says it in the iPhone Human Interface Guidelines and the iPhone User Interface Design Essentials, both from Apple.
Hi Sarah,
Many thanks for the EPS. I’m also really glad I saw you at DIBI last week – I was thinking of using a similar method to the one you described, and it was nice to see a pro following the same principles!
Is the iPhone version of the EPS available online anywhere? As Japh said, “I’d love to see it!”
Best Regards,
Rich
i am planning to buy an iPad since it looks lighter than a regular desknote and i don not use much of the features of a laptop.:’*
This post is featured on 40 iPad tools, tips for designer
Sara, thanks so much; that’s exactly what I needed – last night I have even started making my own sketching kit; now with this one I can stop that, and get back to work.
iPad is way too cool to own, i wanna buy one next month.::`
i gave my girlfriend an ipad and she was very very happy*”.
Thank you very, very much ! I’m new at iPhone/iPad design and it helps me a lot.
Thanks Sarah for putting this out there! I thought I’d have to create one myself, but you saved me the time. Just downloaded it, now gettin’ my wireframe on. I wireframe a lot in Illustrator after finishing my paper sketching. I find I’m a bit of a rare use case there…
Thanks for the iPad wireframe. Very handy!
Hey. Many thanks for that Sarah! If anyone is interessted in iPad Axure Widget Library here: http://www.kreativr.de/ipad-axure-widget-library/
